(Eng.) Portugal-UK 650: one watch, a celebration

Portugal and the United Kingdom established in 1373 what would become the oldest diplomatic alliance between two countries still in force. To underline such a long-standing partnership, nothing better than celebrating time with a commemorative watch of the historic alliance, created by the most suitable brand for the occasion. Isotope, established in London by a Portuguese, joined the Portugal-UK 650 initiative and Espiral do Tempo magazine to conceive a special edition limited to 65 pieces. Two of them will be symbolically delivered to the patrons HM King Charles III and HE President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, who participated in the recent London ceremony that reinforced the virtues of the Anglo-Portuguese alliance. Part of the proceeds will be given to ANDI — New Dialogue Organization, a charity active in Portugal and the UK.

The Isotope Old Radium Portugal-UK 650 includes elements alluding to the maritime history of Portugal and the United Kingdom and debuts an unprecedented dial in the collection of the brand founded by José Mendes Miranda. The 40mm bronze case refers to the conquest of the seas — bronze being an alloy always used in a nautical environment. The white dial with a contrasting black outer ring for the minute scale features an enamel coating. The hands and numerals match the bronze on the case, while the textured leather strap with a bronze buckle provides an ideal complement. The titanium caseback is engraved with the number of the limited edition and the sapphire glass features elements of the coats of arms of Portugal and England in 1373 and 2023, revealing a 40-hour power reserve Swiss Landeron 24 automatic movement underneath.

(Pt.)

Caring for your Bronze CuSn8 Isotope - Bronze is a copper alloy and oxidises when in contact with oxygen. The bronze forms a natural patina, which gives your watch a unique character. With time, your Old Radium Bronze will become darker due to oxidation: the patina. This is a natural process and does not indicate quality issues.

Bronze is a living alloy and it's not hypoallergenic - data suggests that more than 10% of the world population is known to be allergic to nickel. Therefore, a bronze watch case may irritate your skin.
